LIVE AND LOVE CRAFTS - March Photo Inspiration

Hi all

My apologies for not being around lately.  I have had quite a lot on, including another Magazine Commission that came in.  I love doing these, but when they arrive it is a case of head down and focus as there is always a deadline to meet.  I have not had one for a while so this was a surprise, a nice one too.

Today I have a set to share which I made using these gorgeous materials from Live and Love Crafts.  Of course I just could not resist digging into my Noor Designs and Cheery Lynn dies too.  That just about sums up the materials I used to be honest, apart from items from my stash.   It is a bit photo heavy I am afraid, but it is the best way to explain just what I have done.
These are the links to two of the shops I use:

I made this set for the March Photo Inspiration Challenge at Live and Love Crafts

Just look at this gorgeous photo!  Well, this was just up my street!

I had such fun doing this.  I opted to make a card and co-ordinating altered Notebook/Organiser.  I think the images were from PION, apart from the front image to the card and that one I found in my stash.  It just went perfect for not just the photo, but the theme too.

What a lovely Challenge this is!  And, of course I would like to enter this into the Challenge at Live and Love Crafts

As always, thanks for looking,

KRAFTYHANDS - KEW AGAIN!

Hi everyone,

Thursday already, where has the week gone to!

I have another card photo to share using papers and topper from  Kraftyhands  again and the Noor an d Cheery Lynn dies.  As I said beforfe, I am in the midst of gathering together a selection of Celebration card.  I just loved this Postcard Topper from the 'Kew' pack, and I knew immediately I wanted to use it but my mind just went blank.  So, it has been sat looking at me for what seems ages now until some inspiration came my way.  It matches perfectly with the 'Kew' papers too.

The embellishments came from  Live and Love Crafts and my stash.

CMD - ONIONS!

Hi all

You know what it is like when someone asks you to make a card for a male?  Well, my heart dropped, but I am always up for a Challenge, and I really did not like to say no this time, so off I went on my merry little way of struggle!  I was also asked for this to be based around the hobby of a Gardener.  Well, I looked through my images and stamps, and the only image that I could find that was anything like appropriate was a topper from Cardmaker's Delights with ONIONS as the feature. Blimey!  How does one make a card using an Onions topper! lol  Anyhow this is what I came up with.

The papers are a mixture from DCWV and  Noor Designs UK ('Spring').   The die-cuts are Tim Holtz and Cheery Lynn.  I could not resist adding the cheesecloth, and I found the little carrot buttons and the wooden leaves in my stash.

The edges are inked with Tim Holtz Distress ink and I have added Frantage.  That actually transformed it in my view.  Then I carried the design to the inside adding a pocket in which is slotted a Kraft Tag.

So, there we have it!  At the same time, I made another male card alongside this one.  I very rarely just make one card at a time!  I will post the second card on Friday for you to see.

Thanks for looking today,

KRAFTYHANDS CHALLENGE - Winter Blues

Hi everyone,

I have a DT card to share today which I have made for the Challenge at Kraftyhands which is themed 'Winter Blues'.  Isn't that a fabulous theme?!

Well, I thought of the lovely Hyacinth in the 'English Country Garden' pack of postcard toppers from Kraftyhands right way, and the papers from the Fatale 6 inch pack were a perfect match.

Set upon a white embossed background (I love the effect of a white embossed background) and the addition of the Noor and Cheery Lynn dies creates my version of 'Winter Blues.

The photo does not show clearly, but I have inked the edges of the die-cuts and added lots of sparkle.  The lace and pearls are from my stash and the flowers are a mixture from Wild Orchid Crafts and Live and Love Crafts.  I used Dutch Doobadoo structure paste and fine glitter  to create an icy effect around the edge of the embossed background.  I am loving this paste!

I do hope you have time to pop over and take a look at the very talented Design Team's work on the Kraftyhands  blog.  It is a fabulous Challenge, it would be great if you could join in.

As always, thanks for looking, and have a great day!

ROSES AT CHEERY LYNN

Hi all,

I really do apologise for my absence, I have been, and still am really busy at the moment but I will be back in full force again soon.

I have a card to share with you tonight which I made a little while ago and would like to enter into the lovely challenge at Cheery Lynn.

I loved making this card using a mixture of Cheery Lynn dies and this fabulous Sarah Kay image which has been coloured by a friend of mine.  You will see there is a pocket in both central sections where a tag has been slotted inside.  The flowers are from Wild orchid Crafts, I have machine stitched the edges and the papers are Tilda ones.

CHRISTMAS CARDS ALL YEAR ROUND CHALLENGE - WINTER WONDERLAND

Hi everyone

First I would like to apologise for my absence from Blogging recently, I have been having a few problems with my PC.   I have been unable to make many comments, each time I clicked on the comment link nothing happened.  Anyhow, eventually I found I could re-set Firefox back to its original settings (yeah seems simple but I am useless when things go wrong!) and Yay!  it seems to be ok again now.  It did not help with me getting flu either, just when I was due my flu jab!

Anyhow, today sees the start to a new Challenge at CCAYR, which is entitled 'Winter Wonderland'  You will see I have been playing around with my Cheery Lynn die-cuts again, and I just love this image created by Sylvia Zet for Wee Stamps.  I am really enjoying making this shaped card.  The image on the inside is from LOTV -  I love this image!

VINTAGE at Cheery Lynn

Hi everyone

I am just stopping by with a card to share which I made for the Challenge at Cheery Lynn where the theme is one of my favourites 'Vintage'.  I have had such fun playing with the Frame, flower and leaves dies from Cheery Lynn and have added a Cheery Lynn Butterfly die-cut too.  The embossing folder is the A4 one which came with my e-Bosser.  (Love this!)  The image is from Magic Moonlight.  I inked the flowers and also the embossing.

CHRISTMAS CARDS ALL YEAR ROUND CHALLENGE - GETTING READY FOR CHRISTMAS

Hi everyone

Today sees the start to a new Challenge at CCAYR, which is entitled 'Getting Ready for Christmas'  You will see I have been playing around with my Cheery Lynn die-cuts again, and I just love this Sarah Kay image which has been coloured by a friend of mine.  Yes even the flowers and leaves are Cheery Lynn die-cuts.  The front and side borders are from a lovely Cheery Lynn frame die.  Don't they give that lovely lacy effect instead of using real lace?

DIE-CUT FLOWERS AT CHEERY LYNN

Hi Everyone,

I am back from a lovely week's holiday at Lake Garda (Italy) and all raring to get crafting again.  I breathed a sigh of relief to see my scheduled posts had worked ok for the given dates.

I have a card to share which I made a little while ago which I would like to enter into the Challenge at Cheery Lynn  which is entitled 'Die-cut Flowers'  It basically consists of a square card with a diagonal pocket inside which houses a bookmark which is decorated on both sides.

I had such fun playing with an assortment of Cheery Lynn dies making this card.  You will see there are border dies, Flowers, leaves and butterflies, flourishes and part doiley and heart dies too.  There is a lot going on on this card but it really is predominently made of Cheery Lynn dies.  I loved making the flowers which are inked with Tim Holtz Distress ink.  A lot of work but so rewarding.

GDT AT CHEERY LYNN - MAGIC CARD

Hi and Good Morning everyone,

I am here today sharing my final card as Guest Designer for Cheery Lynn for the month of August.   Where has this month gone to!  I have had a ball making these cards, Thank you so much to Bj and Michael, Lori and all the DT for inviting me and making me so welcome.

I have been wanting to have a go at making one of these Magic Cards for simply ages and followed a Tutorial I found Tutorial online.  There are several Tutorials to be found.   My only problem was trying to photograph it, it was so very difficult.

The gorgeous image created by Sylvia Zet for Wee Stamps is centralised onto the inside uppermost panel and edged with the fabulous Felicity Tiny Doily DL143
after first inking them very lightly with Tim Holtz Distress ink.  The image I have coloured with Copics.

The inside edges are edged with the Anastasia Border B136  and I have added a touch of copic in pink to tinge them

The two side panels have been edged with the gorgeous Dancing Doily Lace Border - DL134

Turning to the inside we have two panels here with a top fold crease dividing.  The lower panel contains a criss cross type pocket which is edged with Dancing Doily Lace Border - DL134.  There is a separate detachable insert bearing two gorgeous heart dies.  First we have  Two of Hearts- Dl128 and then we have  Heart to Heart Doily - DL106 which has been layered and finally finished off with the lovely  Darling Daisies - A196 .  These are fabulous, and a real must to the wishlist,  and the leaves come with the set.  I find myself reaching for these more and more.

The uppermost panel has the gorgeous  Felicity Doily - DL239  (Love this!) centralised onto the Memory Box papers.

And finally we come to the side panels.  The flowers formed into a sort of daisy chain are made up using the Darling Daisies - A196  and their leaves after first inking with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.

Hi and Good Morning everyone,

I am here today sharing another card as Guest Designer for Cheery Lynn for the month of August.

I opted to make a Double Zigzag Card card following a lovely Tutorial which can be found
HERE    I love this shape and will definitely use it again.  Doesn't it show the gorgeous die-cuts and Pion papers off lovely!  The Sarah Kay image is centralised and framed on the inside using the Felicity Doily Die.  The card is edged with the fabulous Dancing Doiley Borders  and I am in love with these gorgeous 'Darling Daisies'  I opted to give the band a ribbon closure as the card is so bulky and embellished the front using the Daisy Strip to form the flower and Tropical leaves.  You can tell I had such fun making this.

SHABBY CHIC/BEAUTIFUL BORDERS

Hi everyone,

WOW what lovely weather we are having in the UK at the moment.  I really do need a nice breeze for me to enjoy it but I will not complain.

I am here tonight with a card to share which I made for the Challenge at Cheery Lynn using a selection of their dies, including a lovely border die called 'Anastasia'  I have not used the border cut itself, but the piece that is left after cutting it.  I was so chuffed when I realised I could use these offcuts instead of throwing them out.  In addition there are several other dies, including doily dies etc.

The lovely Vintage cat image is again from Cardmaking Delights.  I am really loving these images, they make great toppers but also great tags too.  Here are the links incase you want to go off on a hunt for them:

You will gather I used several items from my stash too.
