FUSSY & FANCY CHALLENGE - 'My Favourite things'

Hi everyone

What a fabulous Challenge we have starting today again at http://fussyandfancychallenge.blogspot.co.uk/

My lovely friend Gina is hosting this Challenge and has chosen a brilliant theme of 'My favourite things' (Make a creation using any of your favourite things)

We are sponsored by another of my favourite shops  Wild Orchid Crafts

Well, it really is not my turn to Blog today, but with such a lovely theme to work to I could just not resist.   So,  favourite things?  Where do I start?  I have so many favourite things.  But my latest favourites are the lovely Pion papers from the 'Greetings from the North Pole' section found here  After a bit of thought, I decided that a Gatefold card would showcase this lovely image perfectly. The image is quite large on the paper, but Iwanted to use it as an image rather than cover it up (as I tend to do with papers).  I just had to add some lovely embellishments which were a birthday gift from a lovely blogging friend.

They can be found here

The gorgeous border die - well it will come as no surprise to you to hear it also came from Noor Designs UK

In addition:

Dutch Doobadoo Structure Paste ( http://noordesign-shop.co.uk/ )
Tim Holtz Distress inks for the edges

It would be lovely if you had time to pop over and see the Design Team's beautiful inspiration and even better if you fancy joining in with the challenge. (http://fussyandfancychallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ )

As always, thanks for looking,

Judy x

FUSSY & FANCY FRIDAY CHALLENGE - MUSIC

Hi everyone

What a fabulous Challenge we have starting today at http://fussyandfancychallenge.blogspot.co.uk/

Tone  is hosting this Challenge and has chosen a brilliant theme of Music ( - notes, instruments, dance, )  think wide

We are sponsored by one of my favourite shops  Noor Designs UK
Nothing is too much trouble for Tracy.  If you do not see what you are looking for on her site I am sure if you message her she will help if she can.  She is a mine of information too and so talented as can be seen on her Blog here at http://crafteezee.blogspot.co.uk/

I opted to make a Christmas card using this lovely Magnolia Snowman image which I coloured with Copics.  I cut off three inches of the front vertically with fold at the left side, and went from there.  The die-cuts are layered with card which is covered with papers.  These are Spellbinders die-cuts which I have had for some years now.  I played around to get the layered effect with an aperture for the image.

Most of the items are available from  http://noordesign-shop.co.uk/

Snowman image :  Magnolia and coloured with copics (I have had this stamp for ages and never tire of it )

Dutch Doobadoo Structure Paste
Tim Holtz Distress inks for the edges
Beautiful papers by Lemoncraft. (Available from  http://noordesign-shop.co.uk/   The pack is called 'Christmas Greetings', and I absolutely love it.

Some of the embellishments were a birthday gift, but again I feel they could well be available at http://noordesign-shop.co.uk/

And of course, items from stash.

It would be lovely if you had time to pop over and see the Design Team's beautiful inspiration and even better if you fancy joining in with the challenge. (http://fussyandfancychallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ )

As always, thanks for looking,

VINTAGE CORSET

Hi everyone

I am here today to share a card I made recently using this lovely image which was from Cardmaker's Delights when they were open.

Actually I made this some time ago so I cannot rememer just which papers I used.  I do know that the embellishments were a mixture of items from Wildl Orchid Crafts and also my stash.

This is a sort of criss cross style card, placed on its side so the detachable tags can fit into the right hand side pocket.

As always, thanks for looking,

FLORAL EASEL

Morning everyone

I am sharing today a card which I made a while ago.  It is sometime since I made a shaped card, and I could well be inspired to start making them again.  I absolutely love Fancy Folds, they aremore difficult to photograph at times, but I love making them.

The papers were from mu stash,as were the laces, apartfrom the lovely trim and that was from Live and Love Crafts.  I notice now that Tracy at Noor Designs UK is stocking a lovely selection of laces and trims plus some fabulous flowers.  Well in fact  it has become a real one stop shop!  ( http://noordesign-shop.co.uk/)

The die at the top right and base are JOY die, as are the banner and also the tag at the right and the border dies wereeither JOY or Marianne, but they are all from http://noordesign-shop.co.uk/

The flowers were from Live and Love Crafts, but again there is a lovely range now at http://noordesign-shop.co.uk/

I would like to enter this into the Challenge at http://scrapcardschallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/
where the theme is shaped cards and flowers.  What a lovely theme!

WE LOVE VINTAGE

Back again!

Right, here is the second post today.  If you would like to see the first post please just scroll down.

This time I have made another card for the lovely Challenge over at http://wlvc.blogspot.co.uk/2016/06/challenge-70-en-random-winnaar-69.html

I just fancied doing it!  The challenge theme is 'vintage' and butterflies.  Well I enjoyed making one the other day so much I got carried away and made another one.  I love butterflies, and it is ages since I used them on a card, once I got started  there was no stopping me.  The punch I used is an old one and one that I tend to reach for whenever I need a butterfly.

The shape is one which I used to make such a lot.  It is simply a square card but I cut 3 inches off the front and overlapped the image slightly.  Here is a photo of the inside to try and explain:

I think I should maybe make some more shaped cards yes?  We all like a change now and again don't we?

The papers were from Live and Love Crafts as were the flowers (apart from the pink one which was from Noor Designs UK).  In addition the Rosette Ribbon and Shabby ribbon were both from Live and Love Crafts.  The Tulle trim was from Noor designs UK  and everything else came from my stash.

Again, I inked the edges, and the die-cut is from a Sweet Dixie heart die.  You would never know would you?  It is such a pretty die and so useful.

PINK AND BLACK

Hi everyone

Would you believe I have found a photo of a card Imade back in 2013!  How I missed posting this one I do not know.  I was well into working with shaped cards at that time and I loved this shape (and stilol do for that matter).  I was using Cardmaker's Delights images then, just as I still am now too.  The colours are so unusual for me but I do still like them.

I have no idea what the papers are on this card but I do know the lace was purchased locally.

As always, thanks for looking

CHRISTMAS CARDS ALL YEAR ROUND - Anything but square or rectangle

Hi everyone

Today sees the midway point for the  Challenge at CCAYR, which is entitled 'Anything but square or rectangle'.  Well, this theme was just up my street, so you can imagine I loved making this card.  I really do not think you can beat the embossed look for that nice crisp, clean fresh look, and I thought it went well with the snowy look also.

PION WINTERTIME IN SWEDISH LAPLAND

Morning all

Here I have another card which I made last week.  I think this sees the end of my section of cards which I have made using the lovely materials from Live and Love Crafts
I am sure there will be more soon though.  I still have some of these lovely images left and Christmas is very much on my mind!

I chose to make an Easel card this time, using my Go Kreate dies.  The edges are inked with distress ink, and I had such fun with the Frantage.

Normally my favourite Christmas colour combo would be 'Traditional' colours but at the moment I am really taken with the combo below.  Love to see lots of sparkle and snowy white to a card whether it be Wintery of shabby and lacy.

The materials used are as follows:
Pion Wintertime in Swedish Lapland papers and REPRINT Vintage Santa image,  Shabby white ribbon, Frantage, cheesecloth, flowers, rosette ribbon, shabby stars and Stickles Stardust all from  Live and Love Crafts shop
Go Kreate and Cheery Lynn dies,
Distress Inks

The lace was purchased locally.  Anything else came from my stash.

This is the link to Live and Love Crafts shop

I would like to enter this card into the following Challenge:

Today sees the start to a new Challenge at CCAYR, which is entitled 'Anything Goes'

I love the poinsettias and have decoupaged these.

CHRISTMAS CARDS ALL YEAR ROUND CHALLENGE - WINTER WONDERLAND

Hi everyone

First I would like to apologise for my absence from Blogging recently, I have been having a few problems with my PC.   I have been unable to make many comments, each time I clicked on the comment link nothing happened.  Anyhow, eventually I found I could re-set Firefox back to its original settings (yeah seems simple but I am useless when things go wrong!) and Yay!  it seems to be ok again now.  It did not help with me getting flu either, just when I was due my flu jab!

Anyhow, today sees the start to a new Challenge at CCAYR, which is entitled 'Winter Wonderland'  You will see I have been playing around with my Cheery Lynn die-cuts again, and I just love this image created by Sylvia Zet for Wee Stamps.  I am really enjoying making this shaped card.  The image on the inside is from LOTV -  I love this image!

CHRISTMAS CARDS ALL YEAR ROUND CHALLENGE - GETTING READY FOR CHRISTMAS

Hi everyone

Today sees the start to a new Challenge at CCAYR, which is entitled 'Getting Ready for Christmas'  You will see I have been playing around with my Cheery Lynn die-cuts again, and I just love this Sarah Kay image which has been coloured by a friend of mine.  Yes even the flowers and leaves are Cheery Lynn die-cuts.  The front and side borders are from a lovely Cheery Lynn frame die.  Don't they give that lovely lacy effect instead of using real lace?

'SPLENDOUR OF FALL'

Hi everyone

I am here today with the first of two cards to post which I have made for the Challenge at The Shabby Tearoom
where the theme is 'Splendour of Fall'   This needed to be an Autumn themed card using apples.  This is the photo inspiration:

I opted to make a card which was inspired my a lovely shaped card which Joann made.  Joann desperately needs votes for her application to the DT Call at Heartfelt Creations, so do pop over and see her work, and if you feel she deserves a vote I know she would be over the moon if you helped her out.  Personally I just love her work which can be found here:
Joann

Apples?  Well I had to have a good old think here and eventually came up with this idea, after finding a photo on the Internet which I thought would work.

I wonder what you think?

Thanks for looking,  I will be back in a jif with my second one.
